Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely the worst primer ever. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! That is, unless you want to do more work (e.g., sanding and smoothing the primer) or have your project look like garbage. I followed the roller recommendations and now my project looks absolutely terrible (very rough). Wife already painted over it (with latex paint) so now sanding this is going to be even more work. All the work that was done and the excitement I had for finishing my project is now filled with regret and a feeling like i wasted a few days...only to waste a few more fixing this terrible product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looking for advice I purchased Kilz Original primer for my kitchen cabinet makeover, cabinets had melamine and are a good quality MDF. After sanding, priming, sanding, priming then used a quality latex for colour 3 sands and 3 coats I was super pleased with how they turned out. It seem as though the laytex has not cured and it is getting scrapes and nicks. What did I do wrong? Is there a sealer top coat that I need to put on? They were painted and let dry for 4 day's prior to being installed, it's been 7 weeks now and still not hardened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We will definitely buy this for the rest of our remodeling projects—it covered a deep wine colored paint with little effort. The low odor claim was no joke! Very happy with the outcome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage. Right now I am painting a room that has a dark charcoal color on it. (an ex boyfriend had it painted that dreadful color). I'm painting coat of Kilz so that I can paint it a teal color. It needed to be a brighter color for my grandchildren's room. I'm so happy with the results so far and I know that it will turn out beautiful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product failure We used this product on a recent project that we did. Liking idea of low odor as we work in peoples lives in homes. I have never in my career as a painter or painting contractor had a primer fail the way this product did. We applied to new wood cabinetry. A slam dunk for even the most mediocre primers. This product is failing. The slightest disruption caused paint and primer pull down to bare wood in so many places. I’m concerned we are looking at a nightmarish and costly endeavor in stripping multiple sets of cabinetry. I attribute this 100% directly to Killz low odor primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal coverage! When I purchased my home a few years ago, the master bedroom was blood red. Not kind of red, but that nasty, deep, almost purply red that every single night made me dream of NCIS episodes. Not going to lie, because I am a single mom, I just didn't have enough money to paint that red over until this year and the first product I went for was Kilz primer! It covered over that red like nobody's business, and in a single coat I was able to seal that enormous mistake and repaint my room in a relaxing sky blue. I know from experience that painting over reds, and painting over dark colors is phenomenally difficult to do without bleed through, but I am extremely confident in and happy to recommend Kilz low odor (and yes, it IS low odor!) interior primer to cover up all those horrible mistakes! I was a Realtor for 12 years, and Kilz was the one product that reliably covered everything from bright orange paint to sharpie marker murals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sensitive smellers! The smell of paint/primer has always given me headaches after being exposed to it for so long. I am pregnant and we are trying to get our old house finished before baby arrives. The house had been smoked in for 30+ years and was stained yellow from floor to ceiling. The mere thought of smelling paint started to bring on my headache but anything was better than the stale cigarette smell. We decided to try this low odor primer for the house and I am so happy that we did. Not only did it not bombard my senses, but the smell also dissipated very quickly and it did a great job at covering our stained walls and ceilings with no cigarette smell left behind. I will be using this for all of my projects from here on out!
