Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around a great primer! We bought and used kilz 2 and absolutely love how it works. Covered our porch before we painted. 1 coat is all that was needed, with such great coverage. Didnt stink like primer normally does. Went on smooth and laid out without any problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of scraps. :( I've used Kilz for years but the 2-gallon pail I'm just finishing is full of little bits of scrap paint. HTG, every time I go to the tray I have to pick out 4 or 5 flecks of crud. It's messy, wasteful, and time consuming. On the upside, Kilz usually offers a great base for painting, but I don't know if I'll buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exterior siding and wood floors works great! We are restoring a 100 year old farmhouse. We scrapped and sanded the exterior wood lap siding and hand primed it with a brush using kilz water based. We them used SW Duration in white, one coat, sprayed on. Turned out great! We also used this on our wood floors! (Not recommended per label but could not find a floor primer that was) Most of the floor were sanded primed and painted with the Orange brand pourch and patio paint! Turned out great! Great adhesive properties. Remember great prep produces an excellant paint job! For pics see 1920farmhouseal

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good for for smoke After three coats in a room with a long-time smoker the nicotine and tar is still soaking through the paint. The primer isn't worth the high price for it not to work. I'll try Kilz primer 3 next, hopefully that will work. I'm painting the entire house with kilz, so I'm hoping to find one that works

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sands like bubble gum 24 hours later in CA 100 degree temp 15% humidity and want to sand surface. Like sanding an enamel that's not baked hard. Clogs sand paper what a pain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product! Excellent product in covering existing room color; allowed only one coat of finished paint to be applied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing can beat this! Finally, a product that does what it advertises, and more!! A novice painter, I found this extremely easy to use, excellent coverage, with minimal clean up; most importantly, it did the job as promised. I could have bought something cheaper, but, I'm sure I would have not gotten the best results possible as I did with Kilz all-purpose. I dreaded painting before using this product with all the smell, clean up etc....Not anymore = I can't wait to paint again!!! thank you Kilz !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Kiltz 2 is soft Prepped surface by sanding with 320 and cleaned with tsp degreaser. Primed with kiltz 2 then painted after 24 hours dry time. Primer is soft still. If I push hard on the surface I can dent the coating. Not sure what to do now. Scrap everything off and start over or hope it hardens in time. For sure I won’t buy kiltz 2 again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Kilz 2 Interior/Exterior Primer We moved into a home and I washed the shelves before I put the primer on. It took a gallon a 2 coats and the stains still come through. We absolutely love Kilz products and tell our friends and family to use Kilz on trouble spots, so this is a huge mystery to us that Kilz 2 primer w/2 coats did not work. Please help me out. Did I use a wrong product? I am at a loss what to use. Thank you so much

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked perfect 20 years after having built our home I decided to repaint. I needed to paint over stenciling on my walls. I used an unknown type of ink all those years ago for the stencils and was afraid that it would bleed through or be apparent in bright daylight. I used Kilz 2 over the stencils in two rooms. It covered perfectly, I cannot detect that they were ever there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1924 Home Rennovation I just completed the renovation of a house built in 1924. The house was in poor shape with mold growing on walls in two bedrooms. After successfully removing mold and resurfacing the walls we used the Kilz on both rooms, floor to ceiling. Kilz was also the primer of choice for all other rooms in the house. There is not a wall in this house that is not covered in Kilz. I’ve tried other primers and nothing compares to the coverage and quality you get from this primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this for on our old home to paint under the porch ceiling. It was a mix of old and new wood. I was painting it the Haint blue to ward off spirits. I was able to get it almost covered in one coat. The old wood had some pretty good stains from water leaks.
