KILZ® Masonry, Stucco & Brick Flat paint is a high-quality, acrylic latex paint with excellent hiding properties. This interior/exterior, self-priming, mildew-resistant finish also provides excellent adhesion and water repellency on properly prepared, smooth, rough and textured masonry, stucco and brick surfaces. This water-based formula is designed to accentuate all textured surfaces while achieving a natural look. It is alkali-resistant up to pH 12.0, easy to apply, and cleans up with soap and water.

Preparation

The following steps and products are required.

  • Allow new stucco and masonry to cure for 30 days before painting.

  • Remove all loose, peeling paint. Power wash to remove chalk. Remove dirt, grease and mildew stains with KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Degreaser.

  • On galvanized metal, use a diluted solution of KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher to prepare the surface. Rinse thoroughly and allow a minimum of 24 hours to dry.

  • Cracks and gaps wider than 1/16" should be routed open, dusted and patched with a quality patching compound. Use an acrylic caulk around windows, doors and trim. Scuff sand glossy surfaces.

  • If chalk remains on the surface, prime with a KILZ Premium Primer. Prime all patched areas as well as adjacent wood and metal surfaces. If previously sealed or coated, check manufacturer’s specifications before painting.

Application

  • DO NOT DILUTE. Intermix all cans of same product to ensure color uniformity. Stir paint before and occasionally during application.

  • For best results, apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50 - 90°F. Do not use if rain or heavy dew is expected within 24 hours.

  • Apply using a high quality 3/4"-1" nap roller (rough surfaces) or 3/8"-1/2" nap roller (smooth surfaces), nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (.015"-.021" spray tip, 60 mesh filter). Apply a second coat, if necessary.

  • Maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks. Do not re-spread or re-work paint.

  • COVERAGE: Rough surfaces: 250-300 sq. ft; Smooth surface 400 sq. ft.

Dry Time

  • Dries to touch in 2-3 hours; 4 hours to recoat. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and higher humidity. After two weeks, cured paint film may be cleaned with a mild, non-abrasive liquid detergent.

Clean-Up & Disposal

  • Clean equipment and paint spatters with warm, soapy water. If spilled, contain material and remove with an inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and unused product in accordance with all current governmental regulations.

  • Do not dispose of this product down a drain. For recycling or disposal information contact your local household refuse collection service.

Cautions / Limitations

  • Protect from freezing.

  • Do not use on floors.

  • For best results, apply at temperatures between 40°F - 90°F. Temperatures above 90°F may affect the application such as drying too fast. Avoid painting in direct sun. NOTE: If the surface is hot to the touch it should be considered too hot to apply this coating.

  • Avoid heavy traffic for 24 hours.

  • Allow two weeks before washing or cleaning for full cure.

  • Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.

This warranty excludes (1) labor and costs of labor for the application or removal of any product, and (2) any incidental or consequential damages, whether based on breach of express or implied warranty, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. First Aid

  • If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately.
  • In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.
  • For skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
  • If swallowed, get medical attention immediately.
