Where To BuyKILZ® Low-Lustre Sealer is a clear, non-yellowing masonry sealer. The acrylic-based formula seals, protects and beautifies concrete and masonry surfaces with a low-gloss finish. It can also be used as a protective topcoat for paints and stains. Use on previously coated or uncoated, vertical or horizontal, interior or exterior surfaces such as: pavers, concrete, Mexican tile, unglazed tile, brick, aggregate, natural and artificial stone, masonry and stucco. Not recommended for use on wood, metal, granite, marble, terrazzo, areas immediately adjacent to pools or areas subject to hydrostatic pressure. Do not use over oil-based products. Sealed surfaces may become slippery when wet. Use caution when walking on surfaces when moisture is present. For residential applications only. Apply in sections and walk on dry areas during application.

Preparation†
The following steps and products are required.

New concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days.
-
New or smooth concrete floors: For proper penetration and adhesion of sealer, use KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher to clean and etch the surface (do not use on colored concrete).

Coated surfaces: To clean a previously coated surface in sound condition, use KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Degreaser. Scrape and remove any loose or peeling coating. To completely strip the coated surface, use KILZ Concrete & Masonry Paint Stripper.
Application
-
DO NOT DILUTE. Stir or shake before applying.

For best results, apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50-90°F.
-
Do not apply in direct sunlight. Do not apply to wet surfaces or if rain or heavy dew is expected within 24 hours.

Apply a thin coat using a nylon/polyester brush, 1/4" - 3/8" nap roller, high quality pad applicator or a high quality pump sprayer with an adjustable conical tip. Spread rate is highly dependent on surface roughness and porosity. If sprayed, backroll for uniform thickness.

Allow first coat to dry between 1 and 4 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. Additional coats (no more than 4) may be added for a higher gloss and added protection.

COVERAGE: 200-450 sq. ft.
Note: Horizontal surfaces may be subject to excessive wear. Therefore, periodic touch-ups may be necessary.
Dry Time
-
Dries to touch 1 hour; recoat time 4 hours. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and in higher humidity.

Floors may be subjected to light foot traffic after 24 hours. Allow 72 hours before repositioning furniture or subjecting surface to heavy foot or automotive traffic. Park tires on corrugated cardboard for 14 days after applying product.

Wait at least 30 days before cleaning and only use a mild, non-abrasive liquid detergent.
Clean up & Disposal
-
Clean equipment and paint spatters with warm, soapy water. If spilled, contain material and remove with an inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and unused product in accordance with all current governmental regulations.

Do not dispose of this product down a drain. For recycling or disposal information contact your local household refuse collection service.

For best results, apply at temperatures between 50°F - 90°F. Temperatures above 90°F may affect the application such as drying too fast. Avoid applying in direct sun. NOTE: If the surface is hot to the touch it should be considered too hot to apply this coating.

Avoid heavy traffic for 24-48 hours.

Allow 72 hours before repositioning furniture.

Allow two weeks before washing or cleaning for full cure.

Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.

For one year from the date of purchase, Masterchem Industries LLC warrants to the original residential consumer purchaser (1) that the product meets Masterchem Industries LLC’s manufacturing specifications, and (2) the performance of this product when applied according to the label instructions and specifications. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any implied warranties including the implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this express warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. MAY CAUSE EYE, NOSE AND THROAT IRRITATION. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES AND AVOID BREATHING OF VAPORS AND SPRAY MIST. WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. To avoid breathing vapors and spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air. If properly used, a respirator (NIOSH approved for organic vapor with P series particulate pre-filter) may offer additional protection; obtain professional advice before using. A dust mask does not provide protection against vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use.
First Aid
- If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately.
- In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.
- For skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- If swallowed, get medical attention immediately.
