If there\u2019s not enough square footage for that 12 person dining table you\u2019ve always dreamed of, we think you will love this solution. For this project we will show you how to create an optional tabletop space that retracts up and down allowing you to utilize at your convenience. This Murphy table will double your working counter space, and can even be used as a desk for the little ones to color! This concept can be used in a hallway, bedroom, office or garage for a working station!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Checklist:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"supply-list\">\n<li>Plywood<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kilz.com\/paint\/kilz-complete-coat-flat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KILZ COMPLETE COAT<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Paint and Primer in One<\/a><\/li>\n<li>100-150 Grit Sandpaper<\/li>\n<li>Dust Mask<\/li>\n<li>Damp Cloth<\/li>\n<li>Paint Brush<\/li>\n<li>3\/8\u201d-1\/2\u201d Synthetic Roller<\/li>\n<li>Framed Artwork<\/li>\n<li>Drill or Screwdriver<\/li>\n<li>Screws<\/li>\n<li>Piano Hinge<\/li>\n<li>Hook and Eye Latch<\/li>\n<li>Stir Stick<\/li>\n<li>Can Key<\/li>\n<li>Framed Artwork<\/li>\n<li>Measuring Tape<\/li>\n<li>Level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kilz complete coat paint Murphy Table\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w2L8vFu8Z8o\" width=\"956\" height=\"538\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 1:<\/h4>\n<p>Start by cutting 2 pieces of 1\/2&#8243; plywood to size 28-1\/4&#8243; X 36&#8243;. Then cut 2 additional pieces of plywood to 1&#8243; X 28-1\/4&#8243; for the wall cleats.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 2:<\/h4>\n<p>Sand all pieces of plywood with 100-150 grit sandpaper.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 3:<\/h4>\n<p>After sanding, use a damp cloth to remove any dust from the pieces of plywood.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 4:<\/h4>\n<p>Open a can of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kilz.com\/paint\/kilz-complete-coat-flat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KILZ COMPLETE COAT\u00ae Paint and Primer in One<\/a> and thoroughly stir the paint.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 5:<\/h4>\n<p>Paint all of the pieces of wood with your selected colors and allow to dry.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 6:<\/h4>\n<p>Allow 2 hours dry time*, apply second coat if needed.<br \/>\n<em>*Dark colors and high humidity areas may have extended dry times.<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Step 7:<\/h4>\n<p>Next measure and cut the 2 piano hinges to size 28-1\/4&#8243;.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 8:<\/h4>\n<p>Using screws, attach the first piano hinge to connect the two larger pieces of plywood (table top and leg). Then attach the second piano hinge to connect the table top to the first cleat.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"step-header\">Step 9:<\/h4>\n<p>Measure and center the\u00a0picture frame onto the front of the\u00a0table leg.
