Where to Use

Ideal for interior walls, trim, windows, cabinets, woodwork and doors. Excellent for bedrooms, family rooms, dining rooms, kids’ rooms and offices. Also great for exterior siding, trim, windows, doors, woodwork, shutters, and fencing. For use over properly prepared and previously painted or primed surfaces. Apply to drywall, wood, vinyl, masonry, stucco, brick, cured plaster, aluminum. NOTE: For vinyl siding, only paint with a colour lighter than the original siding colour.



Drywall, Plaster, Masonry and Wood:

2 coats of KILZ COMPLETE COAT™ Paint is minimum required for new or uncoated surfaces and surfaces with severe tannin and stains.

Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals: 

For previously painted metal surfaces, use KILZ PREMIUM Water Based Interior/Exterior Primer.

Surface Preparation

  • Use on properly prepared and previously painted or primed surfaces. Remove any loose or peeling paint and wash off dirt or grease with a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute. Rinse well and allow surface to dry.

  • Countersink all nailheads, repair imperfections and sand smooth.

  • Glossy surfaces must be scuff sanded with appropriate sandpaper prior to coating.

  • Remove dust with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

  • Allow new stucco, plaster and masonry to cure for 30 days before priming and painting.


Airless Spray:

  • Tip: .015" - .021"

  • Filter: 60 mesh

  • PSI: Fluid pressure of 1,500 - 2,200


  • Smooth Surfaces: 10 - 13 mm nap

  • Rough Surfaces: 13 - 19 mm nap


  • Nylon / Polyester Blend

DO NOT THIN if using a roller or brush; however, if using a sprayer and thinning is required, thin with water at a ratio of no more than 240 ml per 3.79 L

COVERAGE RATE: 28-33 m² per 3.79 L depending on the surface texture, porosity and the application method.

Film thickness depends on porosity of surface and various substrate irregularities.

  • At 18 m² per 3.79 L: Wet: 8 mils; Dry: 3.1 mils

  • At 28 m² per 3.79 L: Wet: 5.3 mils; Dry: 2.1 mils

  • At 33 m² per 3.79 L: Wet: 4.6 mils; Dry: 1.8 mils

Dry Time 25°C and 50% RH


  • To Touch: 2 hour 25°C and 50% RH or longer in cooler temperatures and/or higher humidity.

  • To Recoat: 4 hours

  • Full Cure: 2 weeks

  • Darker colours may require additional dry time between coats. Cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong drying time.

Clean-up & Disposal

  • Clean all tools and equipment with clean water.

  • For disposal of empty containers and unused product, contact your household refuse collection service.

  • To reduce waste, consult with your retailer or an online paint calculator to determine the correct amount of paint to purchase.
