The following steps and products are required.

  • Proper surface preparation is required.

  • New concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days prior to priming.

  • Patch all holes and cracks and allow to dry.

  • Do not apply over previously coated surfaces. For touch-ups where surface coatings have failed, completely remove any loose or peeling paint. To completely strip previous coatings, use KILZ Concrete & Masonry Paint Stripper.

  • For proper penetration and adhesion of primer, use KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher to clean and etch the surface.

  • Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the surface. If water is quickly absorbed, the surface is ready. If not absorbed strip or re-etch. Follow all label instructions.

  • For best results, apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°C - 32°C.

  • Stir primer thoroughly before and occasionally during application. DO NOT DILUTE.

  • Apply using a high quality pump sprayer, 6 mm-13 mm nap roller, nylon/polyester brush, pad applicator.
