The following steps and products are required.

  • New and Uncoated Concrete or Masonry Surfaces:
New concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days. For proper penetration and adhesion of topcoat, use a product such as KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher to clean and etch the surface. Apply a product such as KILZ Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer to increase adhesion of topcoat to the surface.

  • Painted, Stained or Sealed Concrete:
Option 1- To completely strip the entire surface, use a product such as KILZ Concrete & Masonry Paint Stripper.
Option 2- To recoat over an existing coating, remove any loose or peeling paint and scuff sand the surface. Use a product such as KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Degreaser to clean previously coated surfaces in sound condition. Use a product such as KILZ Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher to clean and etch any bare concrete area.

  • Intermix all cans of same product to ensure colour uniformity. Stir before applying.

  • For best results, apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°C - 32°C.

  • Apply a thin, even coat using a 10 mm nap roller cover, pad applicator or a nylon/polyester brush or an airless sprayer (.015"-.021" spray tip, 60 mesh filter).

  • COVERAGE: 37 m² - 46 m² per 3.79 L on smooth surfaces and of 23 m² - 37 m² per 3.79 L on rough surfaces.

  • Allow first coat to dry 24 hours before deciding if a second coat is necessary. For uniformity, apply a second coat (in a criss-cross direction).

  • DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN TWO COATS. An annual touch-up may be required in areas subject to tire traffic.

Dry Time

  • Dries to touch in 2 hours. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and in higher humidity.

  • Re-coat time 4-6 hours.

  • The floor may be subjected to light foot traffic after 24 hours. Allow 72 hours before subjecting surface to heavy foot traffic or repositioning furniture.

  • Allow 7 days before subjecting to automotive tires. Premature heavy traffic will cause paint failure requiring spot recoating. If necessary, corrugated cardboard may be used underneath automobile tires after 72 hours.

  • Wait at least 30 days before rinsing or cleaning. Use a mild detergent as needed. Abrasive cleaners and pressure-washers should be used carefully to avoid premature paint failure.

Clean up & Disposal

  • Clean all tools and equipment with soap and clean water.

  • If spilled, contain material and remove with an inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and unused product in accordance with all current governmental regulations.

  • Do not dispose of this product down a drain. For recycling or disposal information contact your local household refuse collection service.

  • Protect from freezing.

  • For best results, apply at temperatures between 10°C - 32°C. Temperatures above 32°C may affect the application such as drying too fast. Avoid applying in direct sun. NOTE: If the surface is hot to the touch it should be considered too hot to apply this coating.

  • Avoid heavy traffic for 24 hours.

  • Allow 30 days before washing or cleaning for full cure.

  • Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.
